POSITION SUMMARY

Job Summary: The Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager is responsible to ensure food safety and compliance are completed at the highest level of quality and integrity and in full compliance with SQF, USDA regulatory agency standards, and/or federal and state mandates. This role ensures strict compliance to USDA, SQF and GMP requirements and processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and responsible to enforce all GMP, SQF, USDA and Company policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, enforce, manage and maintain all FSQA programs and ensure strict compliance.
  • Develop, implement, enforce, manage and maintain accountability programs.
  • Support, implementation, enforce, and maintain quality-control programs and policies with QC Supervisor.
  • Develop, implement, manage and enforce all aspects of HACCP, USDA, SQF and food safety programs.
  • Responsible for daily pre-operational internal and USDA inspections.
  • Reply to all non-compliance records and close out within an acceptable time frame when a resolution has been met.
  • Develop a professional working relationship and act as a plant liaison with USDA staff.
  • Ensure all products produced meet or exceed all customer, regulatory, SQF and company requirements.
  • Develop, document, implement, and validate all food safety processes/procedures to monitor incoming raw materials, in-process and finished products to ensure compliance to all regulatory and company requirements and specifications (SSOP, HACCP plans, SQF, prerequisite programs, etc.)
  • Lead and train all food safety efforts in the USDA manufacturing plant.
  • Enforce food safety and quality programs and maintain the required documentation and provide continuing education and training of plant team members and leadership.
  • Report and analyze FSQA metrics, report to Senior Executives.
  • Manage and maintain current and accurate COA process and procedures.
  • Participate in weekly MOI meetings.
  • Participate in daily leadership meetings.
  • Complete regular label reviews and verification to ensure labels meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Limit costs and avoid injuries by confirming proper maintenance, execution and usage of all machinery and equipment.
