Reports to: Molecular Biologist
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and technically minded person, who works well with others, displays strong attention to detail, has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast paced and changing work environment. The role of Micro Lab Technician will be part of the QC Lab team, working to maintain a high level of accurate service to our internal customers.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience;
  • Previous experience in a QC or Micro lab;
  • Previous experience with qPCR would be considered an asset;
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, etc;
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) skills;
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment;
  • Quick learner, attention to detail and self-directed skills is required;
  • Adaptability paired with strong organizational skills and a sense of urgency allow the applicant to quickly change priorities, organizing to complete tasks efficiently;

Responsibilities:

  • Work safely following good laboratory practices;
  • Adherence to and enforcement of Organigrams GPP/GMP standards;
  • Perform sample collection and preparation for analysis;
  • Work to maintain the sample intake and results reporting program;
  • Assist Molecular Biologist with organizing and maintaining the environmental monitoring program;
  • Assist Molecular Biologist with maintaining laboratory supplies inventory;
  • Assist Molecular Biologist with KPI management and reporting;
  • Operate and assist with maintaining instruments and equipment;
  • Lead or assist with other initiatives when required;
