Quality Assurance Supervisor
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join our Newmarket, Canada team!
Quality Assurance Supervisors at the Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Canada Newmarket location lead a team of quality professionals. As a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you will develop and set direction for Quality Assurance and Compliance for projects related to the nuclear industry, which is a highly regulated industry. As a Quality Assurance Supervisor, you must operate effectively with all functional areas of the company to assure that QA provides value added support. You will be responsible to establish, measure, monitor and take quick action on performance metrics on a regular basis. You will develop, refine, implement, and manage compliance of production processes with internal and external safety, quality, and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. You will be responsible for the implementation of standards, methods, and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision, accuracy, and reliability of company products. You must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. You will play a vital role within the assigned business segment supporting project schedules and customer deliverables. You will work in a team environment with the support and guidance of management. You will be responsible for completing project assignments in conformance with company procedures and policies to comply with customer specifications and industry standards. This position requires interaction with customers, suppliers, operations, and sales to support both domestic and international products and services.

Your Challenge:

  • Must assure compliance to CWNC Quality Management System, Customer purchase orders, and specifications and industry standards.
  • Define, develop, and implement quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory requirements.
  • Disseminate requirements to appropriate staff and report status of compliance with regulations and standards to management.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and various company departments to resolve quality problems and provide information.
  • Evaluates complex in-process nonconformances and assess findings, responses and need for follow-up activities.
  • Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary.
  • Prepare and provide product assurance documentation as required by customer programs.
  • Defines and develops quality standards for receiving, in-process and final inspection in accordance with company and contractual requirements.
  • Reviews and evaluates complex in-process rejections and implements corrective action as needed.
  • Participates in and may lead audits.
  • Provides technical support to inspection personnel as needed.
  • Ability to follow and create work instructions.
  • Time management, multi-tasking, and communicating daily.
  • Work as a team member and participate in activities to improve operations and the facility.
  • Understand the workload and provide support as needed to meet business objectives.
  • Assists other personnel as required.
  • Work in a safe and efficient manner at all times.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
  • Four (4) to six (6) years of related experience.
  • Familiarity with CSA N299, Quality Assurance Program Requirements for the supply of items and services for nuclear power plants and/or CSA N285, General requirements for pressure retaining systems and components in CANDU nuclear power plants.
  • Auditor experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization and communication (written and oral) skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office experience.
