Description:

SUMMARY

Responsible to monitor, verify and enforce Freshstone Brands food safety and quality standards on a daily basics as required on HACC plan / pre-requisite program/ SQF , FDA as well as customers standards. QA technician is responsible to perform the following duties in order to provide a safe quality food for our customers.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science with Food Safety experience
  • Minimum 6 months experience in Food Industry

Responsibilities:

Food safety

  • Performs pre-operational inspection at start up before production start
  • Verifying compliance with Sanitation and hygiene policy requirements as well as effectiveness through swabbing (ATP environment)
  • Perform a micro testing in house as scheduled
  • Performs a daily monitoring on following requirement
  • GMP’s / allergen/ temperature / in process sanitation / Brittle glass and plastic audit.
  • Performs on site observation for all CCP’s as well as other requirements which are been monitored from production employees
  • Verifies all the monitoring records such as CCP’s / labeling records/ other HACCP requirements which are monitored from production/ receiver/ shipper/ maintenance employees ensuring that comply with requirement daily.
  • Conducts a GMP / CCP’s/ prerequisite program / HACCP /SQF training as required on daily basics
  • Issues a worker order for all food safety non-conformances observed in house which affect the food safety or the program
  • Issues a corrective actions required for any food safety deviation and follow up to close a loop ensuring that the deviation has been corrected
  • Communicates and inform QA manager any time you are not able to make a call or decision on food safety deviation observed or something is important to share with QA manager
  • Collects scheduled micro food samples and prepare as required to the outside laboratory for testing
  • Collects a listeria samples as scheduled for product and production areas
  • Inform the QA manager weekly for the micro result
  • Communicates with production management/ receiving / shipping for any deviation observed and follow up with them to correct it
  • Fills out properly as required all the documentations such as deviation forms/ reports / daily observations on different issues
  • Proposes a disciplinary action for employees who continuously do not comply with food safety requirements .
  • Ensures that suspected unsafe product/ equipment/ production areas/ storage / trailer has been placed on hold and QA manager has been notify immediately
  • Monitors proper disposition of held products according to QA manager direction
  • Follows up on issues which are been observed from CFIA inspector any time taking all required corrective action.
  • Collects any information if required for any food safety customer complaints and follow up on corrective action proposed from QA manager
  • Releases the product on hold for micro when the result has been received
  • Verifies the traceability coding and product identification has been properly implemented as required in all areas such as receiving/ production /shipping
  • Conducts a PCO audit as required
  • Verifies shipping requirements ensuring that all of them comply with regulation such as labeling trailer condition/ temperature/
  • Responsible for filing all the food safety documentations as required
  • Participate actively as required in recall situation following the direction given from recall coordinator.
