Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Reports to: QA/QC Assistant Manager
Position Overview:
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the quality management systems and ensuring compliance with Herbaland’s standards, as well as regulatory requirements. This role involves assisting with audits, conducting inspections, and carrying out testing processes to maintain consistent product quality and adherence to regulatory standards.
Please find the key responsibilities of this position is as follows:
- Perform routine testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of test results and analyze data for trends or deviations.
- Conduct sample collection and testing in adherence to established quality protocols.
- Ensure all processes comply with regulatory requirements, including ISO and GMP standards.
- Participate in internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and addressing any non-conformities.
- Accurately document inspection results by completing reports, logbooks, or electronic forms as required.
- Maintain and update SOPs related to quality control processes.
- Identify and report quality issues and work with cross-functional teams to implement corrective actions.
- Recommend changes in processes or standards to improve quality outcomes.
- Collaborate with production, R&D, and supply chain teams to ensure a smooth and effective quality assurance process.
- Provide guidance and support to other team members on quality-related matters.
- Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure precision and compliance.
- Monitor supplies and materials needed for testing procedures, placing orders as necessary.
An ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in food science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field. Advanced certifications in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Technician) are advantageous.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role, ideally within the food manufacturing or nutraceutical industries. Experience in a GMP or ISO 9001-compliant environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP), and familiarity with relevant ISO standards.
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures, including but not limited to pH testing, moisture analysis, and microbial testing.
- Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment calibration, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Skilled in data analysis, statistical process control, and root cause analysis tools
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with quality management software, such as LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) or SAP. Familiarity with electronic documentation and ERP systems for quality tracking and traceability.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and record-keeping abilities.
- Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with R&D, production, and regulatory teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to fast-paced, dynamic production environments.
- Ability to train or mentor junior staff in quality assurance practices and processes.
