Description:

Scope of Position:
Assure that MAMT delivers only the highest possible quality product. Confirm that all materials purchased, produced, and shipped by MAMT are as per the engineering intent. This includes dimensional integrity of all components and assemblies, certification of all materials and compliance to all applicable functional requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and follow procedures to ensure that both purchased materials and components comply with all applicable engineering requirements (dimensional, functional, etc.). This includes outsourced fabricated components and assemblies, inspection of all incoming prototype parts including all necessary documentation. This requires an ISIR procedure for MAMT sub-suppliers that must be established and monitored.
  • Establish and follow procedures to insure that in-process and inventoried materials are available to meet customer requirements. This includes maintain records of all in-process and inventoried materials as to quantity, engineering level and quality inspection, work with Prototype PM’s/Quality Leads to assure timely delivery of purchased goods to meet build schedules, maintain total control of all raw materials (previously certified) and release to prototype shop through appropriate system.
  • Establish and follow procedures to assure that completed work is comprehensively inspected and results reported in the appropriate manner prior to shipment to customer. This includes obtain all customer required documentation and procedures and maintain an up-to-date library of this information.
  • Develop an MAMT inspection documentation standard to be utilized when not provided by the customer.
  • Inspect all outgoing components and assemblies and report data in appropriate form and prepare all required customer documentation to be delivered with outgoing goods.
  • Obtain and maintain any required inspection equipment required to perform the above tasks. Maintain a clean, organized inspection area. Aid the MAMT prototype staff in the inspection of components under development assuring those acceptable methods and practices are utilized throughout the organization.
  • Advise management of a potential problems or concerns and any opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform FARO ARM Measurements.
  • Perform Weld macro analysis to compare weld parameters against customer standards and provide feedback accordingly. This includes cutting, polishing and other samples preparation (as required)
  • Perform other duties as determined by the Quality Leads, Quality Manager, Prototype Manager, Assistant General Manager or General Manager.
  • Participate in MAMT’s continuous improvement activities.
  • Follow all QS9000 procedures
  • Follow all company safety rules, policies and procedures.

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have proven proficiency in blueprint reading and interpretation including G.D.&T as well as technical specification.
  • College education or equivalent with manufacturing/industrial background.
  • Ability to use a variety of precision tools, including micrometers and calipers.
  • Willingness to contribute to a collaborative team and work environment to help maintain a high-quality standard.
  • Able to manage time effectively, priority tasks and achieve set targets.
  • Ability to tune out outside distractions during work hours
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
