Description:

SCOTLAND - Stoddart’s are a leading, independent Scottish beef processing company who deliver best quality Scottish beef to our loyal customer base.
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join our Technical team based in Broxburn. In this role you will report to our Quality Manager and be responsible for carrying out all relevant checks, maintaining technical standards in-line with legislation and customer requirements within the factory.
This position is permanent, fully onsite and 37.5 hours per week working Monday to Friday. The hours of work may change from time to time in accordance with business needs so flexibility is required.
Hourly rate is from £12.30 per hour and will increase with training.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Previous experience gained within the meat industry is advantageous but not essential
  • Demonstrable track record for delivering high standards of work
  • Hands on, motivated and confident
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication
  • Understanding the need for compliance with a pragmatic approach
  • Computer skills (full Microsoft package)

Responsibilities:

· Conducting hourly checks throughout production which include but not limited to: despatch checks, label checks, CCP checks, temperature checks, product quality checks
· Following testing schedule to make sure all chemical and microbiological swabs and product samples are taken on time and sent to the lab
· Conducting start-up checks prior to production beginning to ensure the factory is of the required standard
· Conducting calibration checks of monitoring equipment
· Identifying any product that does not meet specification, raising non-conformances and working with production to rectify the issue
· Ensure that all operatives and staff within the factory comply with GMP and hygiene procedures
· Support in training all staff members in food safety and allergen awareness
