QUALITY ASSURANCE TECHNOLOGIST

ERTH is located in Ingersoll, Ontario, and is looking for an individual with proven experience to join our team as a Quality Assurance Technologist in our Metering Services Division.
This exciting position offers an opportunity to work within a dynamic team and diversified program. The Metering Services Division provides a wide variety of service offerings to utilities, retail and industrial customers in the areas of:
- Metering services, including testing and calibration of various meter types
- Compliance with regulations (internal processes, Measurement Canada, and IESO)
- Meter changes, troubleshooting, and verification of installations and services
- ISO and S-A-01 compliance, including adherence to quality manual policies and procedures, participation in ISO audits, involvement in the Quality Management Team (QMT), and assistance with MRQ administration.
As a Quality Assurance Technologist, you will be primarily responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the AMV Program’s quality management system to ensure compliance with Measurement Canada accreditation requirements. You will also assist in the monitoring and maintenance of the wholesale metering program to ensure compliance with IESO requirements.
Some key responsibilities include:
- Inspect, seal and sign certificates for electricity meters for the AMV program
- Monitor the processes and outputs of the AMV program for compliance with regulatory requirements, and document and investigate any non-conformances
- Assist in the maintenance of the AMV quality management system, including quality documentation and records, and providing input on new processes and expansions to the program
- Oversee the certification and maintenance of test consoles for the AMV program
- Act as a liaison with customers and regulatory body for technical issues and reporting for the AMV and MSP programs
- Act as subject matter expert for technical requirements of AMV and MSP programs
Required skills, qualifications and experience:
- College Diploma in Engineering Technology or Engineering Technician with C. Tech designation
- At least 5 years’ experience in a related field or knowledge of residential and wholesale metering
- Excellent computer skills, particularly Excel and Word
- Valid Class G Driver’s License
- Experience working in an ISO 9001-certified environment beneficial
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem solving and organizational skills
- Detail oriented and adaptable to changing demands with the ability to organize priorities based on deadlines
- Able to work well within a team and individually
