Description:

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Personable to the effect he/she will be dealing with Sales Representatives, production personnel, and customers.
  • Able to work overtime when needed, including evenings and Saturdays
  • Adaptable to schedule and work changes due to new priorities
  • Communication skills necessary to deal with a variety of people and situations
  • Lift and move corrugated sheets as necessary. Lift and move cutting and printing dies as necessary
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry, preferred
  • Ability to create reports using Excel, Word, or similar software, preferred
  • Experience with mechanical drafting, CAD, or graphics design, preferred
  • Aptitude in math, preferred
  • High attention to detail, preferred
  • Computer literate, preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SWR employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.
  • Make samples of corrugated boxes
  • Identify and select board grades
  • Prepare box specifications
  • Physically make up sample boxes from specs
  • Adhere to machine limitations
  • Record keeping and filing as necessary
  • Meet time schedules on projects with possible overtime involved
  • Help maintain good housekeeping in the department
  • Prepare samples for testing according to established standards and procedures
  • Conduct paper and combined board tests according to established standards and procedures
  • Become proficient in computer entry of test results
  • Prepare test reports for Sales Representatives, production personnel, and customers
  • Assist in internal and external quality audits
  • Special projects as assigned
  • All other duties as assigned
