Your Opportunity at SECURE:
As our Quality Control Chemist (Fixed-Term Contract), you will be responsible for routine and nonroutine QA/QC testing on raw, intermediate, and finished products. Accountability includes maintaining Quality control data and records. The Quality Control Chemist performs testing and provides continuous support to external and internal customers in accordance with the Quality Management System.
This role is based out of Blackfalds, Alberta

Work Environment:
This role is based in a laboratory setting and involves adherence to strict safety and quality protocols. It is a fixed-term contract position for up to six months, offering an opportunity to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
A Day in The Life:
- Ensure a focus on quality, service excellence and efficiency within areas of responsibility
- Routine Quality Control testing; provide guidance and evaluation of Blending Plant products
- Maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness and organization
- Observe all established Safety protocols and actively participate in the Health and Safety Program
- Contribute to Laboratory documentation related to Safety, Quality, and training
- Perform other duties as required
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or related Technical Diploma or Degree from SAIT/NAIT
- Adherence to SECURE’s Occupational Health and Safety Standards
- Experience in a Quality Control laboratory in a manufacturing sector would be considered an asset
- Oil and Gas production chemicals experience is an asset
- Excellent at verbal and written technical communication
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Understand the urgency of actions
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent analytical problem-solving expertise
- Detail-oriented and demonstrates interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Strong customer service focus skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable
