WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for a Quality Control Chemist II to join our raw material and packaging team to help in testing and releasing material for onward processing.
This position will be based out of our facility in Brampton.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE

  • Knowledge in a range of wet chemistry techniques and basic laboratory instrumentation (e.g. Chemical and physical identifications test, limit tests, conductivity, density, pH, specific gravity, viscosity, etc.)
  • Previous experience with, or good understanding of good laboratory practices and good documentation practices
  • Experience with, or good comprehension of the regulatory guidelines (cGMP, GLP) and compendia (USP/NF, ICH, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, Strong computer skills in Microsoft office applications (Excel).
  • Experience in Quality Control Lab, Analytical Lab, or in an R&D setting in Pharmaceutical, Cosmetic or Cannabis industries

Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine testing/review of incoming raw materials that includes testing for colour, odor, texture, pH, Viscosity, FTIR, and Titration.
  • Conduct evaluation on raw materials incoming Primary and secondary packaging components as per Deciem Quality Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Verifying and releasing of in-coming Primary and secondary packaging components through the company ERP (Microsoft D365).
  • Participate in analytical method development, validation, and method transfers of new raw material, qualification and trending.
  • Participate in the qualification of new packaging components, assessment and trending.
  • Develop new specification Raw Material and Packaging Components.
  • Oversee and support in retain sample management including sample tracking and filing internally and externally within the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with inventory control and warehouse department to ensure raw material and packaging components are tested according to procedure.
  • Follow Good Laboratory Practices, Good Documentation Practices, all relevant internal procedures in all laboratories related activities and ensure compliance with Corporate Quality Systems.
  • Liaise between Design, Regulatory and Quality Team to address new Raw Material and packaging component commercial launch.
