Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Quality Control Inspector to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of quality control tasks in a fabrication shop and in the field, ensuring all work meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will be experienced in visual and dimensional inspections, welding quality assessments, and non-destructive testing techniques.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Education: Non-Destructive Testing Technician/Welding Engineering Technician Diploma.
  • Certifications: CGSB and/or CWB certifications are an asset, though not required

Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills (English).
  • Ability to complete non-conformance reports and support corrective actions.
  • Experience: Experience in ultrasonic testing, magnetic particle testing, and liquid penetrant testing

Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

Responsibilities:

  • Material Evaluation: Review Material Test Reports (MTRs) and documentation against Purchase Orders (POs) and material specifications.
  • Visual Inspections: Conduct pre-welding fit-up inspections and final weld evaluations, ensuring adherence to specifications.
  • Monitoring Welding Conditions: Oversee welding conditions, parameters, consumable control, and post-weld heat treatment operations.
  • Dimensional Checks: Perform accurate dimensional inspections and generate reports as needed.
  • Inspection of Welds: Monitor welding processes and carry out in-process and final weld visual inspections.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that inspection equipment for welding quality is maintained and calibrated.
  • Reporting: Complete and submit inspection reports and ensure all necessary documentation is filed accurately.
  • Quality Manual Creation: Prepare quality manuals and packages to meet project schedules.
  • Welder Qualifications: Maintain and update welder qualification records.
  • Non-Conformance Reporting: Identify and report non-conformances, providing support for corrective actions.
  • Client Communication: Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring their specifications and expectations are met.
  • Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to client specifications, relevant codes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Safety and Teamwork: Monitor and ensure quality and safety objectives are met. Work effectively within a team environment and follow established standards and procedures.
