QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST – PART TIME

A detail oriented, and technology savvy individual is needed to fill our open Quality Control (QC) position. This part-time position works closely with Lead Writers and Program Managers, ensuring the accuracy of formatting and grammar in proposals. As our QC specialist you will need to be comfortable working in MS Word, utilizing the track changes and all markup features. The QC role will be responsible for following a standard operation procedure to review documents for issues and errors including but not limited to verifying correct table and figure numbers, compliance with font and spacing requirements, checking for spelling & grammar errors, and ensuring URLs, if included, are correct and functioning. Strong written communication skills are necessary as is a working knowledge of Dropbox and MS Excel.

Part-Time, Contractor role, paid hourly.
Location
RTP, NC desired but US-wide eligible

Deliverables:

  • Working with the Program Manager and Lead Writers to verify accuracy and readability
  • Able to identify grammatical and formatting errors and make corrections as needed
  • Conduct and complete written reviews of proposals
  • Providing an objective review of proposals without changing stylistic choice of original writer
  • Manage various deadlines and deliverables for multiple, concurrent projects

Necessary Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding grammar and writing skills
  • Strong computer skills, particularly with MS Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Rapid turn-around time
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Must be able to follow Grant Engine’s established protocol for Quality Control
  • Suggest changes needed, but do not make copyright changes
  • Ability to handle peak workload during short windows of time; i.e., a 2-3 week window in August, December and March each year
