JOB SUMMARY

The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all QC inspection activities, managing the
Nonconformity Report (NCR) process, analyzing QC Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and ensuring accurate
documentation of all QC-related reports. This role is essential in maintaining quality standards and ensuring
compliance with project specifications, as well as corrective and preventive actions for nonconformities.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Quality Control Expertise: Strong understanding of quality control processes, including production

inspection, material verification, defect identification, and nonconformity management.

  • NCR Management: Proficient in handling NCR processes, from identification to CA/PA implementation.
  • Quality Tools Application: Extensive experience applying quality tools such as Ishikawa, 5 Whys, 5W2H,

Control Charts, Pareto Analysis, and Histograms in daily QC operations.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Skilled in performing root cause analysis using tools like Ishikawa (Fishbone), 5 Whys,

GUT Matrix, 5W2H, Diagrams and Process Flowcharts.
Problem Solving:Capable of identifying, managing, and resolving quality issues at both process and product

levels, ensuring thorough corrective and preventive actions.

  • KPI Management: Experience in using data analysis resources (Excel and Power BI) to monitor and improve

QC KPIs and production results.

  • Analytical & Data Interpretation Skills: Strong ability to analyze results and trends using quality tools such

as Control Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Histograms, and Pareto Analysis (80/20 Rule).

  • Proficiency in Excel: Advanced Excel skills, including creating and formatting tables, charts, and forms,

organizing data (sorting, data validation, removing duplicates), and analyzing results with pivot tables and

advanced formulas (e.g., IF, CONCATENATE, VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH, LARGE).

  • Documentation Management: Knowledge of document control processes (creation, review, archiving, and

disposal) for organizing records and reports.

  • Standards Compliance: Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 and other relevant quality management standards.

Knowledge of ASTM and AAMA standards related to glass, aluminum extrusion, and finishes testing and

performance requirements.

  • Attention to Detail & Precision: Strong attention to detail, with methodical and analytical capabilities.

Ensures accurate inspections, documentation, and reporting, maintaining high-quality standards throughout

all QC activities.

  • Communication and Training: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.

Capable of providing clear instructions and conducting training for staff on QC procedures, NCR handling,

and new operational improvements.

  • Leadership & Ownership: Demonstrates a proactive approach to challenges, with a strong sense of

ownership and responsibility in managing QC activities. Capable of working independently while effectively
leading teams through QC processes and improvements.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance in Manufacturing, preferably in the

glass or glazing industry.

  • Technical Diploma (DEC / DEP) or bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or

a related field with a focus on quality management.

  • Certification in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Additional certification in ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems or other relevant quality standards is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Quality Control Management:

  • Manage and supervise QC inspection activities across all production processes.
  • Oversee the NCR process, including identification, evaluation, treatment, and closure.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions for nonconformities using quality

tools such as Fishbone Diagram (Ishikawa), 5 Whys, 5W2H, and Process Flowcharts.

  • Manage deviations and implement corrective measures for non-conforming products.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant quality management standards and internal procedures.
  • Implement and oversee the third-party Conformity Certification process, including developing QC

requirements for critical supplies and services, establishing QC follow-up tools, and managing external
communication related to quality control.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Ensure proper documentation and accuracy of QC inspection reports.
  • Ensure that all QC records and reports are properly filed and maintained.
  • Maintain accurate and well-organized records and reports related to quality control activities, ensuring full

compliance with regulatory and procedural standards.

Performance Monitoring and Improvement:

  • Analyze and report on QC Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor trends and propose improvements

using quality tools such as Control Charts, Scatter Diagrams, Histograms, and Pareto Analysis (80/20 Rule).

Cross-Departmental Coordination:

  • Coordinate with other departments to resolve nonconformities and ensure timely and effective corrective

measures.

  • Conduct meetings for investigating NCs or following up on corrective/preventive actions (CA/PA) and QC results.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training and guidance to production and warehouse staff on inspection procedures, NCR handling,

and operational improvements derived from corrective actions.

  • Facilitate external communication with suppliers and support project managers in client communication

related to product nonconformities and quality issues.
