Overview
Responsible for the quality of concrete produced within the division. Assists with the monitoring best practices and techniques, in regard to concrete quality. The position assists all levels of the operation in establishing and achieving quality objectives while working closely with Operations, Sales, and Management.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform field testing of concrete, including fresh and hardened properties including air, slump, unit weight, and strength.
  • Maintains records of materials used in production of concrete, evaluates and tests raw materials in accordance with ASTM standards to ensure minimization of product failure.
  • Monitoring and testing concrete performance during the placement phase to identify concrete performance problems at jobsite/projects.
  • Perform plant inspections for compliance with applicable specifications and SOP’s.
  • Communicate and coordinate material test results to QA Manager and Plant Manager to ensure timely resolution of material quality-related issues.
  • Communicates with dispatchers, operations and other plant personnel on quality issues.
  • Records observations and may make recommendations for improving processes.
  • Work with production to identify and resolve quality issues related to concrete performance.
  • Supports Sales and Production departments in resolving quality-based customer queries and complaints.
  • Perform all pertinent ASTM, ACI and FDOT testing procedures and evaluations.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned by management.
  • Evaluates product quality and performance to establish “Benchmarks” for products and raw materials.

EDUCATION

Associate Degree or Certificate. Technical knowledge and certifications

  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician – Grade I.
  • ACI Strength Testing Technician Certification.
  • Local DOT Certifications.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and extended hours.

AREA OF EXPERIENCE

3-6 Years.
