Description:
Transom, a division of Mestek Inc., is a leading manufacturer of large high-temperature heat pumps for the commercial and industrial markets in Canada and the United States. Our heat pumps are specifically designed for the rapidly growing electrification of the HVAC sector. Additionally, we produce CO2 heat pumps for the domestic hot water market. Transom is making significant investments in its growth by expanding our production facilities, which will include climate chambers for the development and testing of new products.
Position Overview: Transom is seeking a motivated team member to join as our Quality Control Technician as we expand the production process to meet growing customer demand. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5-7 years’ experience in a quality-oriented manufacturing setting.
- Post-Secondary Education in Quality and/or Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of inspection, test and measurement techniques.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Superior problem-solving skills
- Good computer skills.
- Strong computer skills, particularly with company software.
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 40 lbs. (with assistance for heavier loads).
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, continuous work environment.

Responsibilities:
The QC Technician is accountable for conducting incoming inspections of raw materials, subassemblies and assemblies for internal production, incoming finished goods from manufacturing partners and for internal production. In this role, the QC Technician is also responsible for investigating the returned products for warranty approval, conducting defect analyses, maintaining accurate records of all inspection results and findings, and creating reports to analyze and identify consistent errors to plan for future prevention.
