Description:

WHS Runcorn is a leader in finishing, decorating and assembly of automotive plastic components and we are looking for a Quality Control Technician to join our highly successful team on a permanent basis.
Working closely with both the quality and production teams this role involves the following:
· Measuring and testing of painted product to customer’s Engineering specifications. This includes visual and instrumental colour evaluation and paint performance testing.
· Approval of incoming paint batches by assessing colour panels and laboratory test reports.
· Keeping records of internal test data and participation in product audits.
· Re-inspection of product if required, on site or at customer’s premises.
· Ensuring specific requests from Supervision or Quality are implemented e.g. care points or quality alerts, special labeling.
· Using test equipment’s software to capture and analyse measurement data. This will involve preparing a report to advise results and trends.
· Giving training and guidance to colleagues on specific product knowledge or inspection criteria.
· Supporting the QA department in all quality control activities.
· Final inspection of painted product and the assembly of painted product.
· Participation in corrective action and problem solving/8D.
· Participation in any internal or external training that is appropriate and required for the role whilst ensuring that you are working to the latest Work Instructions and procedures.
· Ensuring the continual smooth running of the Inspection process throughout your shift.
This is a very fast moving business and to apply for this role you should be highly motivated with an ability to learn new concepts quickly and accurately. Excellent communication skills are required in addition to problem solving and analytical skills. Previous quality control experience is essential, preferably within automotive painting technical finishes. Ideally candidates should also be educated to a minimum A level standard. This is a twenty four hours operation, working a 3 shift system and you must have a flexible approach to working. Successful applicants must have a manufacturing background together with a full clean UK driving licence.
