The Quality Coordinator is an integral part of the FRPD HSEQ team. Reporting to the Quality Manager and Project Managers when assigned to projects, the Quality Coordinator plays an important role in ensuring that products, services, and processes meet established quality standards and comply with contractual requirements. This role involves conducting inspections, tests, and audits throughout the project lifecycle.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Diploma in Civil Technology or other related discipline
  • 1-3 years of progressive experience in quality or project management on infrastructure projects. Experience in marine construction would be an asset;
  • Working knowledge of pertinent regulations, codes and specifications related to the construction industry (OPSS, OH&S, MTO, AT, BCMOT, etc.);
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Knowledge of procedure-writing and formatting with flow charts and/or flow lines
  • Experience in interpreting project specifications and engineering drawings is an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain quality documentation according to established manuals, programs and procedures as required by FRPD’s Quality Management System
  • Manage initial set-up of the project including identification, development and submission of documents requiring review and approval, ensuring that current documentation is organized and easily retrievable
  • Prepare and execute inspection and test plans
  • Perform quality inspections in accordance with the related codes and customer specifications
  • Maintain log of inspection status
  • Review Certified Material Test Reports as required
  • Perform internal monitoring and audits as required
  • Complete all associated documentation and forms for individual inspections
  • Write non-conformance reports
  • Provide expertise to site team to avoid and resolve quality issues
  • Attend client meetings to support project team and/or Quality Manager
  • Assist with the resolution of project related concerns – both technical and performance related
  • Coordinate field activities with the Health and Safety team when required
  • Review and sign data reports and check sheets
  • Monitor resource requirement and adjust levels to accommodate the project requirements
