Description:

QUALITY ENGINEER

For our customer we are looking for As Quality Engineer you will report to Head of QEHS for 1 year project + option.
On a daily basis you will work closely with Manufacturing, Quality Inspectors, Warehouse staff, Supplier Quality and Engineering.
Quality Engineer will ensure higher level of product quality. The role will improve OTD, customer satisfaction and NCC through improved quality control processes within Kongsberg Manufacturing.
The Quality Engineer will actively drive, implement and execute process improvement initiatives and actions from Goods in Inspection improvement project.
Responsibilities:

Quality Control Process Development

  • Initiates, develops and maintains measurement and inspection procedures, guidelines, standards, and methods for product monitoring.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and optimization of metrology and calibration processes
  • Develop and implement metrology strategies to optimize measuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Performs MSA (Measuring System Analysis)
  • Inspections and Audits Performs inspections and audits of components and finished products
  • Conducts audits of production processes and documentation to assess compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Documents results and findings after inspections and audits are carried out.
  • Lead Mechanical Completion to ensure that everything is carried out in accordance with procedures/requirements.
  • FAI on products in development phase.
  • Engineering documentation review
  • Participates in review and release of new and revised engineering documentation (in example drawings, BoM)
  • Participate/one of the approvers in the Review and release of revision of drawings/documentation in production after the first edition from Engineering.
  • Training and Guidance
  • Provides training, guidance and mentoring to the inspection and production team on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Non-conformance management
  • Coordinates activities related to nonconformance handling, material rejections and corrective action reports
  • Participates in investigations of warranty cases.
  • Investigate root causes of quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to address them.
  • Facilitate problem solving activities
  • Customer Support
  • Prepares and signs FAT(Factory Acceptance test) report with customer.
  • Prepares and signs CoC(Certificate of compliance) issued for product delivered to customer on self-produced items.
  • Compiles and reviews the as built documentation
  • Support customer inquiries and feedback related to product quality and reliability.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Coordinates the quality inspection team, ensuring they have the necessary measuring systems for the job.¨
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams including product engineering, project engineering, and production to ensure quality requirements are met throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborates with SQD to ensure right quality of supplied products.
  • Identifies and coordinates resolution of measurement-related issues

Qualifications:

  • Relevant engineering degree or equivalent background
  • Solid knowledge of standards related to metrology and quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to program and operate measurement tools (CMM, Laser Tracker, Vision equipment, calipers, gauges, micrometer, indicators, etc.)
  • Ability to do measuring system analysis
  • Ability to calculate measurement uncertainties, including identifying all contributing factors and the magnitude of impact each have on the measurement process

Work Experience:

  • Working knowledge with ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Able to provide clear direction and training to individual and small groups of employees.
  • Experience in product and process audits
  • Excellent communication, collaboration skills, and problems solving skills.
  • Excellent documentation practices, highly detail oriented.
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office, Visio, SAP ERP and various metrology and statistics software.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or 2-3 years experience / Engineering, Quality Engineering or a related field.
Procject starts from 01/10.2024 - 01/10.2025 with possibility to offer permanent role in the furture.
