Description:

Montana Advanced Composites (MAC) is a developer and manufacturer of advanced composite materials that are used in the aerospace, sporting goods, transportation, and industrial markets. We are committed to building a collaborative team and offering a safe, positive, and flexible work environment.
MAC is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer who will work collaboratively and creatively to continually improve our products and processes. This person will be responsible for executing our quality management system, implementing robust methods to improve the quality of our products and processes, and nurturing a quality culture in which all employees are engaged.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering or related field
  • Deep knowledge of and experience implementing the ISO 9001 quality management system; AS 9100 experience preferred
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Database development and management skills
  • Experience with hot-melt prepregs or other composite materials preferred

Responsibilities:

OBJECTIVES OF THIS ROLE

  • Interpret, build upon, and ensure company-wide compliance with MAC’s Quality Policy and quality management system
  • Maintain the complaint, nonconformity, and corrective action procedure using records and tracking systems, including root-cause analysis
  • Document quality assurance activities with internal reporting and audits
  • Develop new standards for production and design, with improvements as needed
  • Identify training needs and collaborate with Engineering and Production teams for companywide participation

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, execute, and oversee inspection and testing of composite products to verify conformance with specifications and deliverables
  • Investigate product complaints and reported quality issues to ensure closure in accordance with company guidelines and external regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate tracking, documenting, and reporting quality metrics; develop and maintain a robust database of quality metrics
  • Manage internal and external quality audits
