JOB DESCRIPTION

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer to join our Product and Supplier Development team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by driving product quality forward for the leading manufacturer of Ion Chromatography products worldwide. You will be an integral part of new product development core teams, establishing product requirements and plans to support successful design transfers to manufacturing and ensure an extraordinary quality experience for our customers. Additionally, you will play a key role in the development and management of new and existing suppliers.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or scientific field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in quality assurance, quality engineering, product development, or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience in supplier quality or development.
  • Proficiency in new product introductions, design for quality, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Strong background in process improvement, non-conformance management, and risk management.
  • Familiarity with validation process design, process validation, change control, and auditing quality management systems preferred.
  • Highly motivated and skilled in communication.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, 13485, or similar quality management systems.
  • Ability to travel occasionally, both domestically and internationally (<10%).

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the success of new product introduction core teams by representing quality, developing and managing quality plans, risk assessments, and key outcomes.
  • Provide design quality assurance support to ensure compliance with design control processes requirements and standards.
  • Impact product quality for assigned products, collaborating with Operations and R&D teams to improve and address warranty costs, complaints, and failures.
  • Support the development and monitoring of new and current suppliers to ensure strong performance, driving corrective actions when necessary.
  • Conduct product and process audits, both internally and externally.
  • Report and present project status, identified risks, and quality readiness to project core teams, site, and business leadership.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to drive investigations.
  • Use the available data to conduct data analysis and assess the requirement for further data collection.
