As a Quality Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for developing and expanding quality engineering teams at Best Buy Canada. This exciting role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the quality engineering team by creating and implementing policies, procedures, and standards that align with and impact key departmental goals.
We practice a remote first working model, leveraging in person interactions at our head office, in beautiful Vancouver, BC, for strategic, collaborative and social purposes.

What you’ll do:
- Build and maintain a “best in class” testing organization from a hybrid of insourced and outsourced capabilities.
- Strong working knowledge of industry standards and best practices for software testing and test automation.
- Mentor, lead and coach QA members of the team to grow the technical knowledge and expertise of the team.
- Oversee activities with system testing, vendors, partners, process owners, and other IT support areas to maximize the overall effectiveness of testing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop short-term strategies by establishing priorities and scheduling testing activities.
- Partner with stakeholders to develop effective system integration, performance, regression and user acceptance testing plans.
- Champion the learning and development of the QA community.
- Track and report quality metrics, defects, and conduct risk analysis by prioritizing testing efforts.
- Ensure software releases meet quality benchmarks before production deployment.
- Effectively plan for succession, recruit talent, and manage resources to maintain focus on business strategies.
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years of increased responsibility and progression in software development and quality engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in people leadership and management directly or indirectly.
- Excellent project planning skills, including the ability to facilitate, present and organize data.
- Adaptability and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to influence and persuade those not directly in reporting structure.
- Knowledge of business workflow modeling techniques, use cases, and software development lifecycle best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, and/or a related discipline is a bonus.

$118,750.00 - $125,000.00
