The Quality Engineering Technician is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the Quality Technicians while ensuring product compliance with internal and customer specifications. This role plays a key part in problem-solving, conducting inspections, maintaining quality documentation, and driving continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Department.
Requirements:
- Associate degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience OR 10 years of experience in a manufacturing or quality-related role, with leadership or supervisory experience.
- Previous experience in an engineer-to-order environment.
- Strong understanding of quality control processes, inspection techniques, and industry standards.
- Proficiency with measurement tools, blueprints, and schematic interpretation.
- Ability to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and quality-related software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills

Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of Quality Technicians, ensuring tasks are executed efficiently and align with company quality standards.
- Implement and enhance quality processes per industry standards, ensuring compliance from BOM to final inspection.
- Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections to verify product quality.
- Inspect, test, calibrate, and adjust equipment, instruments, and assemblies to uphold operational accuracy.
- Conduct process audits to ensure regulatory compliance, perform root cause analysis on quality issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage supplier quality by auditing materials and verifying adherence to specifications.
- Maintain and update quality documentation, including SOPs and inspection records.
- Support non-conformance investigations and recommend process improvements.
- Utilize measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.) for quality verification.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Support supplier quality processes, including incoming material inspections.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Train and mentor Quality Technicians and production staff on quality standards and best practices.
- Ensure proper execution of inspection procedures and compliance with company policies.
- Provide feedback and performance support to team members.
