ARE YOU A DEDICATED AND COMPASSIONATE NURSE WITH A PASSION FOR ENHANCING RESIDENT CARE?
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Quality Improvement (QI) Nurse to join our compassionate Team at our Point Grey Private Hospital in the beautiful Kitsilano. As a QI Nurse, you will coordinate and supervises the activities and duties of those who deliver direct resident care. Quality Improvement Nurse performs duties and monitors departmental activities in accordance with established standards, regulations, policies, and procedures to maximize resident focused care while maintaining respect and dignity.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Current active LPN registration and good standing with BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Additional training and previous experience in the care of the frail elderly and physically and mentally challenged persons.
- Valid First Aid and CPR Certificate
Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing in the English language.
- Must be in good health and free from communicable diseases, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand, and walking as required to perform the duties of the position
Responsibilities:
This individual works closely with the Director of Care/Administrator and assists in the following:
- Assesses residents’ needs and implements and evaluates resident care plans.
- Liaises with physicians, community agency representatives, families, visitors, and volunteers.
- Prepares, facilitates, and follows up the annual Interdisciplinary Care Conference and Medication review meetings.
- Performs monthly audits and identifies areas for improvement.
- Identifies quality improvement needs within the facility and assists in developing programs and projects to improve the quality of care provided.
- Assists with education requirements and presentations throughout the year.
- Coaches nursing and care staff on MDS, PointClickCare and PointOfCare.
- Attends and contributes to JOHS and Infection Control meetings.
- Participates in orientation of new employees.
- Maintains a safe environment for clients/family unit and staff.
- Supports TCG Quality Improvement and accreditation initiatives.
Qualifications:
