About the role
Balfour Beatty is a leading construction company, shaping the future of the UK’s infrastructure. We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Lead to join our Net Zero Teesside project.
As a key part of our team, you will provide expert quality leadership, ensuring that our project delivers right-first-time solutions, eliminating waste and improving quality performance.
What you’ll be doing
As Quality Lead, you will be responsible for the overall quality management of the Net Zero Teesside project, delivering excellence in quality outcomes through a proactive approach. You will manage the quality resources, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and other project-specific standards, and will work closely with the Project Director and Project Leadership Team to maintain the highest standards of quality across all aspects of the project.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leadership: Provide leadership to the project’s quality resources, ensuring a relentless focus on quality and zero harm.
- Quality Management: Oversee the development, maintenance, and application of Quality Management Systems (BMS), ensuring compliance with business requirements and industry standards.
- Process Improvement: Challenge systems and processes to drive continuous improvement, eliminate waste, and reduce the cost of quality.
- Performance Monitoring: Report on project performance relating to quality, implementing corrective actions and driving performance improvements.
- Training & Development: Coach and develop the quality skills of business streams and facilitate quality-related training.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the business in client quality interfaces and build strong relationships with project teams, delivery teams, and external partners.
- Compliance: Ensure the project is compliant with all relevant quality standards, including ISO 9001, and industry-specific requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Facilitate quality-related improvement initiatives and conduct root cause analysis to drive effective corrective actions.
- Reporting: Produce and deliver detailed reports on quality management performance to senior leadership and other stakeholders.
- Sustainability & Safety: Support the project’s sustainability roadmap and ensure the commitment to Zero Harm across all project activities.
