Overview:
At Berry Global Group, we create innovative packaging and engineered products that we believe make life better for people and the planet. Our site at Ellough, Suffolk, focusses on selecting and producing recyclable and reusable products from all Berry product ranges.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Manager to join our team in the plastic blow moulding and injection industry. The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing the Quality Management System (QMS) and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This role involves managing small shift-based teams of Production Quality Controllers and day-based Quality Officers to maintain high-quality standards in our FMCG plastics operation.
You will work within the senior management team, reporting to the Plant Manager. This role is based on a minimum of 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday on site, with occasional travel to supplier/customer sites.
You will be responsible for providing an excellent quality service that will assist in the delivery of the business strategy.
Qualifications:
YOUR EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES WILL BE:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within an FMCG environment and ideally some experience within the plastics industry or manufacturing plastic containers & lids possibly through vertical integration.
- Experience in managing the transition from a QC to QA based approach within an FMCG environment
- Experience of dealing directly with customers regarding, innovation, complaints and continuous improvements
- Strong knowledge of QMS standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experienced carrying out audits based on BRC & Customer audits.
- Experiences in leading the manufacturing site through customer and BRC audits
- HACCP qualified or similar level qualification in quality processes
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities:
COMPLIANCE AND REPORTING:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Prepare and present quality reports to senior management.
- Maintain accurate records of quality activities and performance metrics.
