Job Description

IN A NUTSHELL

We are looking for a Quality Manager to champion and drive the quality standards of the Environment Testing Business in Ireland. Leading change and taking a proactive practical approach to:

  • work with the lab and operations teams
  • implement, maintain, and continually improve the Quality Management System
  • drive excellence in the implementation of Quality Standards in the business.
  • ensure high levels of understanding and ownership in the team on Quality and ensuring accountability from the management team
  • ensure adherence to ISO 17025 requirements and liaise with INAB to drive standards and maintain accreditation.
  • ensure the team maintains a quality standard that allows results to be released right first time, on time, every time.

ARE YOU OUR KIND OF EXTRAORDINARY?

What we are looking for:

  • Degree level qualification or equivalent in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or relevant subject.
  • At least 5 years’ practical experience of working with ISO 17025 either in a laboratory or quality role.
  • Trained Auditor with relevant practical experience.
  • Strong technical, troubleshooting, report writing, and statistical skills would be an advantage.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing ISO 17025 Compliance: ensuring that all processes, procedures, and documentation within the laboratory and operations meet the requirements of the standard.
  • Working with the lab and operations team to ensure that Quality Management System is implemented and adhered to by all team members.
  • Being the champion for quality: providing training, coaching and mentoring to the lab and operations team on quality standards.
  • Day to day management, development and maintenance of the Quality Management System.
  • Coordinating and liaising with relevant external accreditation or regulatory bodies (e.g. INAB) and representing the company during customer and regulatory audits.
  • Holding the lab and operations team accountable for the quality of their teams work.
  • Ensuring internal audit schedule is implemented and adhering to accreditation and Eurofins internal quality requirements.
  • Ensuring excellent quality root cause analysis is conducted on non-conforming work and that a robust system is in place for implementation and follow up of effectiveness of corrective and preventative measures
  • Ensuring a high quality of investigation documentation through training and development of the lab and operations teams
  • Daily, weekly, monthly monitoring of appropriate KPI metrics to ensure adherence to Eurofins Group requirements and to give the lab and operations teams visibility of their operational performance against objectives and targets.
  • Designing and continuous improvement of the quality functions, including internal audits, supplier quality management, change control, documentation control, deviations, quality of data, validations, calibration of equipment, electronic systems.
  • Coordinating participation in External Proficiency schemes, to ensure that the scope of accreditation is effectively covered across all testing disciplines.
  • Proactively monitoring and reviewing overall performance of both internal quality control systems and External PT scheme across the departments and along with senior staff, initiate and support investigations into failures, trend and bias to establish root cause and the implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Preparation and delivery of the Annual Quality Review.
  • Review of the quality system and scheduling, chairing and implementing the action from the annual quality review.
  • Supporting training of personnel in Quality System and Technical Procedures, including induction training for new employees.
  • Supporting the laboratory with performance efficiencies to deliver continuous improvement in various operational and customer KPIs including - on time delivery, customer service, quality, health, and safety
