Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Manager to join our Space Launch Systems in New Orleans, LA. Position will lead NDE efforts at both Michoud Assembly Facility and Kennedy Space Center.

THIS POSITION MUST MEET EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS. TO MEET EXPORT CONTROL COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS, A “U.S. PERSON” AS DEFINED BY 22 C.F.R. §120.15 IS REQUIRED. “U.S. PERSON” INCLUDES U.S. CITIZEN, LAWFUL PERMANENT RESIDENT, REFUGEE, OR ASYLEE.
This position requires the ability to obtain a clearance for access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- More than 1 year experience leading and managing a team
- More than 5 years experience with Non-Destructive Evaluation
- Experience working in a quality job role
- Experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS)
- Experience in root cause analysis and corrective action
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or STEM field
- Experience preparing and presenting to executives, senior leadership, and external customers
- Experience working with and/or supporting a Lean Management System such as OneBPS or others
Responsibilities:
- Performs management activities across multiple (2 or more) Quality Management Job Families. Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies.
- Provides education and coaching on the Quality System.
- Acquires and manages resources and leads process improvements.
- Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports.
- Manages, develops and motivates employees.
- Performing one on one coaching and counseling with direct reports.
- Communicating and presenting to a NASA customer
