An exciting opportunity now exists for a hands-on, innovative, enthusiastic and energetic individual who has a passion for Quality to join Darrell Lea in the position of Quality Officer.
Based at Ingleburn and reporting to the Quality Manager, the primary objective of this role is to support both Quality and Production in all food safety and quality activities and ensure that they carried out in compliance with all set standards and specifications.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Set up, participate and prepare daily taste panel assessment & keep records up to date;
  • Review production, cleaning and other quality records to ensure documents are completed correctly and fully before filing;
  • Check specifications vs production. Deviations from specifications, food safety & quality procedures are reported and non-conformance procedures initiated where required.
  • Check & maintain water activity meters & pH meter etc weekly to ensure they are functioning accurately;
  • Organise product testing (eg: lead) with external laboratory and keep records up to date;
  • Conduct monthly GMP and bag audits with shift managers & keep records up to date;
  • Conduct product review and assessment from co-manufacturers;
  • Maintenance of retention samples;
  • Conduct product shelf-life evaluation and keep records up to date;
  • Educate and assist the factory employees to understand our food safety and quality requirements;
  • Manage metal checks and reject bins
  • Assist in the investigation of internal food safety & quality incidents as well as consumer complaints;
  • Assist with the development, implementation & adherence of the quality system procedures;
  • Maintenance of the document control database and the correct revision is available;
  • Inspect raw materials and packaging at receipt as required;
  • Review COA against specification, keep the filing of COA up to date;
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and assist in developing programs to drive reductions in quality issues, customer complaints etc.
