POSITION SUMMARY
Reporting to the Manager of Quality, Risk & Patient Experience, this position collaborates with clinical and administrative leadership to work on initiatives targeting improvements in healthcare quality, safety, and patient experience.
Through demonstrated proficiency in quality improvement and business methodologies, education, innovation, and role modeling, the consultant will assist programs to:
- Implement unit level quality and utilization improvements
- Implement goals and action plans as outlined in our annual Quality Improvement Plan
- Coordinate the review of quality of care cases including adverse events and critical incidents
- Resource implementation of key patient experience initiatives
- Coordinate unit level compliance with Accreditation and other Patient Safety Standards
- Analyze and use data to inform decision making for quality improvement initiatives
- Provide coaching and mentoring on the use of quality improvement strategies at the unit level
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in a Regulated Health Discipline or Business Administration, Masters preferred
- 3-5 years experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
- Involvement in quality improvement and/or risk management initiatives within a hospital/healthcare setting
- Certification in Patient Safety and Risk Management (or in progress) or completion of a Project Management Program, preferred
