Zero Zone is a manufacturer of reach-in and open refrigerated and frozen food display cases as well as the refrigeration systems that work behind the scenes to cool the cases, keeping the food fresh! We also make powerful industrial refrigeration systems for food warehousing, pharmaceuticals, and even ice rinks!
Our company is structured across 2 divisions – the Display Case Division, located in North Prairie, WI, Waukesha, WI, and Mukwonago, WI and the Refrigeration Systems Division, located in Ramsey, MN and Dyersville, IA.

REQUIREMENTS FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

  • This position requires 12 months of experience to develop the skills necessary to become effective in all aspects of the production process and all phases of operations
  • One year(s) experience and/or extended education (college) in the field of Quality Control with above average aptitude in mathematics.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/SPECIFICATIONS

  • Ability to comprehend and explain simple or complex instructions, both oral and written, pertaining to customer orders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate one on one and in group settings with other employees within the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with complex problems in both the assembly process and personnel matters.
  • Ability to read and comprehend blueprints.

Responsibilities:

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

Under the direction of the Quality Technician Lead and Quality Manager, the quality technician assures quality products by conducting in-process and post assembly inspections. This is achieved by working with the Production Supervisors and employees to ensure that the products are produced to quality standards of the company, and which meet the customer’s expectation of the products.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the inspection of the cases to the organization’s quality standards throughout the whole manufacturing process to ensure nonconforming product is not shipped. This would include part, sub-assemblies, ship loose components, in-process, and end of line case inspections.
  • Responsible for processing nonconforming material within the IFS MRB Case module according to written instruction.
  • Responsible for communicating nonconforming material and concerns to the Production Supervisors to ensure that future issues are prevented. The technician is responsible for verifying that reworked nonconforming material meets quality standards and can be reintroduced to production. Responsible for the escalation of single point failures which have significant risk to the production Tier 1 boards.
  • Responsible for assuring customer requirements are met using IFS Shop Order screen, IFS Non-Conformance Report(s) (NCR(s)) attached to the Shop Order, and pre-production meeting notes.
  • Responsible for the documentation of near escapes (nonconformances) and park data in IFS to facilitate data collection and continuous improvement activities. Team member may assist with continuous improvement events to help prevent further occurrences.
  • Responsible for compressing the end of line photos and storing them in the appropriate network drive. May facilitate the review of photos if there is a quality issue reported from the field.
  • Assist in the First Article Inspection (FAI) as time allows/permits with direction of the Quality Control Technician.
  • Other duties as assigned
