JOB DESCRIPTION

This model development analyst will participate in individual and team projects to conduct research and develop models used for asset/liability management or other related purposes. Models can encompass a wide range from industry-level balance sheet forecasting, mortgage rate forecasting, to security risk sensitivity analysis and yield curve modeling. This role will be responsible for creating or extending ideas and/or code for analysts to develop or maintain conceptual frameworks or testing of quantitative models. Most models will be developed in Python but use of other languages such as SQL might be required depending on the nature of the data. The ability to learn and research banking concepts, quantitative techniques will also be needed for this role.
The model development analyst will work with managers and project leaders to set timelines, and manage deliverables. The model development analyst will also be responsible for governance activities and interactions with third-parties such as model risk analysts and auditors. The role will require the ability to explain and write about complex topics in a straightforward manner.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field, and five or more years of relevant experience

OR

  • MA/MS in a quantitative field, and three or more years of related experience

OR

  • PhD in a quantitative field, and less than two years of related experience

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Programming in either Python, SQL, Matlab, or C++
  • Knowledge of Time Series modeling techniques
  • Familiar with applying mathematical modeling concepts to problems
  • Experience working in group settings and organization skills
  • Experience with timeline planning and execution
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities:

NOTE: THIS ROLE OFFERS A HYBRID/FLEXIBLE SCHEDULE, WHICH MEANS THERE’S AN IN-OFFICE EXPECTATION OF 3 OR MORE DAYS PER WEEK AND THE FLEXIBILITY TO WORK OUTSIDE THE OFFICE LOCATION FOR THE OTHER DAYS.
