You will be working as part of an established team on our Telford & Wrekin Highways Maintenance Framework and delivering complex work that really matters to our business, and the world around you.
What you’ll be doing

As a Quantity Surveyor, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Participating in the management of Service Area budgets in conjunction with the Construction Managers, understanding fluctuations in margins against budgets, and agreeing changes and solutions with the Service Area teams and Senior QS prior to implementation
  • Measure & interpret specifications & drawings
  • Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates
  • Translate measurement from drawings and Specifications and prepare Bills of Quantities and Schedules of rates
  • Ensuring the procurement of sub-contractors is in line with the Balfour Beatty Group procedures and that the packages cover the scope of the works.
  • Producing CVR and month end reports
  • Developing experience and proficiency in constructions methods, processes and the review and commercial / cost implications of all technical and design information.
