What you’ll be doing

As a Quantity Surveyor, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Participating in the management of Service Area budgets in conjunction with the Construction Managers, understanding fluctuations in margins against budgets, and agreeing changes and solutions with the Service Area teams and Senior QS prior to implementation
  • Developing experience and proficiency in constructions methods, processes and the review and commercial / cost implications of all technical and design information
  • Building confidence in the Service Area’s cost control by ensuring that all project status reports are updated monthly for significant changes and by regularly reviewing status reports and supporting schedules
  • Ensuring the procurement of sub-contractors is in line with the Balfour Beatty Group procedures and that the packages cover the scope of the works.
