Quantity Surveyor (Doncaster/Scunthorpe) - £30,000 - £55,000 DOE + Package
Your new company:An exciting new opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a Main Contractor working in the construction and engineering industry.This contractor has a projected growth forecast over the next 5 years due to their recent success in the UK. They are a leading provider of civil engineering and construction services, renowned for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors.
Your new role
:They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team to help successfully deliver contracts in the area due to an increase in workload. As a team of 4, you will be joining the company as a member of the team to work on project delivery success.
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be based in their office 1-2 days a week, and also work from home and site on a hybrid basis.

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Oversee and manage all financial aspects of civil engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Monitor project costs, prepare budgets, and manage financial risks.
  • Handle contract negotiations, variations, and claims in accordance with industry standards.
  • Prepare detailed reports on project progress, costs, and forecasts.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What you’ll need to succeedIn order to be successful, you will have previous experience surveying or on major projects and ideally hold a degree in quantity surveying (or equivalent).
In addition, you will have a strong understanding of administering NEC contracts and preferably hold a CSCS card. Finally, you will be commercially astute and have strong communication skills.
You will need to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role within the civil engineering or construction sector. Experience in fit out or refurb projects is also highly desirable.
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant software and tools. Membership of a relevant professional body would be advantageous but not essential.
