The Senior Application Expert is responsible for developing new packaging products, understanding the interaction of packaging materials with customer equipment and products, and supporting existing business by training, troubleshooting, and communicating product performance. This role involves developing test plans, conducting fitness-for-use testing, and providing expert recommendations to customers, team members, and stakeholders. Additionally, the Senior Application Expert collaborates with equipment and materials teams, field support, sales, and supply chain to ensure existing products meet SEE’s high standards. We need you because you will play a crucial role in developing, designing, and conducting trials to validate the reliability of packaging equipment and materials, ensuring the most robust solutions for our customers.
You’ll produce high-quality results and technical documentation that drive data-driven business decisions.
Your innovative ideas will enhance current product lines or lead to new product development, increasing our profit based on a deep understanding of materials, equipment, and customer operations.
You’ll follow up on market introductions of newly released systems through field monitoring and support, providing technical solutions to customers, external vendors, field representatives, and the broader Innovation & Development organization.
Your project management skills will enable supply chain improvements, optimizing manufacturing processes and raw materials by quantifying their impact on performance.
Additionally, you’ll create value propositions and competitive intelligence for Sealed Air’s developmental solutions, defining and scoping credible projects.
Your expertise and initiative are essential for driving our innovation and maintaining our high standards. Qualifications
Educational Background: University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Packaging Engineering/Science, Food/Meat Science, or related field with experience in a packaging discipline. Equipment and automation experience is preferred.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in technical writing and the ability to create data-driven reports to communicate technical ideas.
Project Management: Experience managing multiple tasks with competing deadlines, demonstrating professionalism, motivation, reliability, and a solution-oriented mindset.
Teamwork and Adaptability: Strong team player able to work effectively on cross-functional projects, showing autonomy, initiative, leadership, and the ability to adapt easily to new situations.
Travel and Language Proficiency: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, fluency in English, with proficiency in another language or the ability to learn another language being advantageous.
