R&D ENGINEER - MECHANICS

Join our DAS business unit team at Abloy Oy in Joensuu, Finland, on a six-month temporary basis. You’ll be part of a collaborative culture that empowers you to build a career you can be proud of.

THE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; a Master’s level qualification is highly advantageous
  • Has previous experience in engineering, with experience in an international work environment being advantageous
  • Demonstrates creativity in problem-solving and the ability to collaborate in decision-making
  • Is proficient in required software (e.g., SolidWorks, Cetol, MS Office, Jira, ERP systems).
  • Possesses a self-initiated, analytical, and open-minded approach
  • Is fluent in both spoken and written English and Finnish

It goes without saying that you have the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, meet deadlines within budget, and consistently deliver high-quality work. Additionally, you should have a natural flair for communicating effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the business.

Responsibilities:

You would be a key member of our project team, primarily focusing on Continuous Product Innovation (CPI) projects. Your contributions would drive the enhancement and refinement of our existing products. You would collaborate closely with R&D team members.

You would also:

  • Designing work in continuous product development using Solidworks 3D
  • Assemble and test prototypes for your own designs
  • Conduct statistical tolerance analysis with the assistance of CETOL
  • Perform root cause analysis for mechanical structures within a selected product range
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Production, Quality, Procurement, and Testing
