Become part of Lummus Novolen Technology GmbH - Lummus Technology’s Polymers Business Unit, where we develop, globally license, and service a portfolio of polymer technologies such as the successful Novolen® PP (the #1 licensed polypropylene technology in recent years), EXCENE™ HDPE technology, and Saplene™ Super Absorbent Polymer (SAP) technology, while we target to further expand our technology portfolio to create a complete solution offering downstream of integrated olefins plants. We also develop and provide polymerization catalysts for use in these processes, and continuously develop new products to meet the latest market requirements.

For our research laboratory in Ludwigshafen am Rhein / Germany we are looking for an R&D Lab Technician (m/f/d) Autoclave Polymerization to join our R&D team at earliest date possible.

Details of the Role

  • Reliable and precise propylene polymerization and routinely check on the results
  • Systematic inspection of the system, independent maintenance and documentation of assigned autoclaves and Glovebox
  • Annual update of the SOP and safety documentation
  • Proactive Problem-management regarding polymerization
  • Assurance of timeliness and reliability of the polymerization table (daily)
  • Regular polymer characterization including MFR, bulk density and polymer PSD
  • Working with LIMS system
  • Proactive questioning and thinking along with projects
  • Learning and support on new polymer analytic techniques

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed training as a Chemical technician or Chemical laboratory technician or comparable professional background
  • Experience with LIMS system is advantageous
  • Experience in swagelok piping advantageous
  • Fluent in German; English skills advantageous
  • Distinct ability to work in a team and high self-motivation
  • Independent, reliable, structured and responsible way of working
  • Confident handling of common software and new communication media
