We are seeking a dedicated and highly motivated Lab Technician to join our research and development team for a 12-months fixed term position. This role involves assisting with supply logistics, inventory management, procurement, solution preparation, and ensuring that the lab is organized and well-maintained. You will work in a small lab management team and alongside experienced scientists and collaborate with other functions as needed. Familiarity with laboratory equipment, strong multi-tasking abilities, and efficient time management are essential. Additionally, you will contribute to various ongoing projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSc in a chemistry/life science discipline or a related field
- Experience with cell culture work is an advantage
- Strong accuracy and accountability, be able to meet deadlines
- Service minded and proactive, with the ability to anticipate and plan for future needs
- Dedication to continuous improvement and maintaining a positive lab culture
- Knowledge in software tools (e.g., Excel or similar)
- Flexibility to handle both routine work and ad hoc activities
- Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills
- Proficient in English, proficiency in Norwegian is an advantage

Responsibilities:
- Assist with preparation of buffers and general lab maintenance
- Contribute to project work as needed (e.g. cell culturing)
- Handle inventory and procurement efficiently
- Assist with ordering of consumables and equipment, and follow-up on orders
- Perform refills (e.g., bottles, nitrogen flasks) and basic service/maintenance
- Clean and sterilize equipment and handle waste disposal
- Maintain lab routines
