Your role at Clorox:
As a R&D Manager in Clorox’s Care & Connection group, you will lead a development team for Glad trash bag products. As a strong business and functional leader, you will be responsible for delivering a continuous pipeline of new and improved products in addition to supporting product improvements, cost savings, and lab testing. You will partner with Marketing and Insights & Sales to create new consumer ideas and drive them to launch, advocating for technical excellence. You will be a key leader in business growth projects, engaging manufacturing to bring products to life successfully. You will be responsible for staffing and delivering projects with technical excellence while building a high performing and highly engaged R&D team!

In this role, you will:

  • Lead a team of 4-6 direct reports across Product, Process Development and Lab functions.
  • Maintain a highly motivated and agile technical team that supports each other and champions innovation.
  • Manage careers, day to day performance and career development of team members. Balance staffing plans to meet business goals. Foster inclusion, diversity and engagement of the team.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving skills and internal/external collaboration to deliver technical and consumer solutions as part of a cross functional team while ensuring technical rigor and appropriate staffing for on time and in budget projects.
  • Drive partnership across R&D, Marketing, HI, Sales and Supply Chain to create and deliver the product launch playbook and lead the execution of discovery programs.

What we look for:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Science or Engineering required.
  • 7+ years of R&D consumer products experience with a focus on Product, Package and/or Process Development.
  • Demonstrated people management skills. 3+ years direct people management experience preferred.
  • Experience in a plastics related R&D environment an advantage.
  • Positive drive and commitment in setting and meeting aggressive goals and enjoy working in a variety of cultures and settings.
  • Strong project management and risk assessment skills.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, technical, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Strategic vision with ability to propose, analyze, and articulate short, medium and long term scenarios for business opportunities.
  • Knowledge and experience in manufacturing operations.

Workplace type:
Hybrid: This position will be required to work in the Willowbrook, IL office 3 days a week. The remaining 2 days can be remote. - Relocation assistance, within the US, may be available.

–Zone A: $121,900 - $240,100
–Zone B: $111,700 - $220,100
–Zone C: $101,600 - $200,100
