Description:

Due to continued expansion Adv tech UK is looking for an experienced R&D engineer to work within our multi-disciplinary R&D team to work on technology developments, from initial concepts up to prototypes demonstrated in flight. The role will be based in our Yeovil Office but will involve some UK, European and potentially some US travel. The role will include aspects of large complex R&D projects supported by external funding agencies and experience of working within cost share projects with UKRI or similar funding agencies at the level of principal investigator, project manager or equivalent essential.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience of multiple materials processes and ability to extend existing knowledge to new processes
  • Experience of maturing technologies and processes in the TRL3-6 region.
  • Experience of working with universities or similar RTO’s, working with students/academics.
  • Hands on approach to engineering tasks and dealing with sub contractors and project partners.
  • Although this is primarily a civilian aerospace role our technology has military applications, and the successful candidate will need to meet with our security standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within a range of projects/teams to provide subject matter expertise across a range of materials and processes for the advanced tech UK teamLead materials development opportunities in Air & thermal management systems across a wide range of components including heat exchangers, valves, heat sinks, etc
  • Provide process knowledge of manufacturing, NDT, materials inspection & test to the advanced tech team across a wide range of processes from joining, additive manufacture and coatings
  • Liaise with external partners and sub contractors who are roviding key parts of Adv Tech projects.
  • Experience in preparing test and other documentation to support progression of technology through TRL’s
