TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRED

General knowledge of engineering design practices and principles.
General knowledge of mechanical design tools: Parametric CAD, FEM & FEA tools (Creo knowledge will be a plus).
Good knowledge of Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) or their equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Basic Italian.
Good English to interface with international colleagues and ability to work in an international environment, other language is a plus.

Responsibilities:

Advanced Parametric Modelling: Optimization of mass of a Static Solution for a Calibration System (Torque Static Transducer + Joint Simulator)
The thesis purpose is to introduce the use of Artificial Intelligence with Generative Design into the Design of a chosen product.
During the thesis development it will be investigated and explored possible design solutions to optimize some defined characteristics of the product. The main drivers to conduct the investigation can be related to the components or the product as a whole.
Optimization concerns: components and product mass, CO2 production to realize the part and assemble the product, heat and surface treatments of the components, production technology of the components, …
Under investigation also how the optimization of the inertia can improve the repeatability of the system.
