Description:

Our Mechanical Equipment Development branch is looking for a Mechanical Technologist, Design!

Responsibilities:

To work with a team that designs, develops, procures and supplies specialty tooling for R&D, CRL internal customers and the Canadian nuclear industry. The work is related to mechanical equipment development and may include the following:

  • Design and development of mechanical equipment and tooling. This includes defining requirements, generating concepts, and producing detailed drawings and general assembly drawings.
  • Diagnose design problems, recommend solutions and take actions based on consultation as appropriate to resolve technical issues during manufacturing, development testing, or field use.
  • Perform occasional hands on work, including mechanical assembly, testing, and field support as-required by branch resource needs.
  • Complete basic calculations or assessments to correctly size components and select appropriate commercially available items.
  • Produce and/or contribute technical writing to documents related to designed equipment.
  • Perform and/or assist with preparing purchase requisitions for commercially available and custom made components and systems.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.
