POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Product Development Lab Technologist at The Republic of Tea, you will play a crucial role in the innovation and creation of new beverage products. This position requires a unique blend of analytical thinking, precision, creativity, and a passion for tea and botanicals. Working in our state-of-the-art, clean, and modern lab environment, you will be directly involved in the development of beverage blends from conceptualization through to production scaling.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field is preferred.
• Proven experience in a laboratory setting, particularly in food or beverage product development.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and priority management skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a TEAm.
• Passionate about tea, herbs, and developing new and innovative products.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with lab information management systems (LIMS) is a plus.

• Conduct experimental tests to develop new beverage products, including teas and herbal blends, focusing on taste, aroma, and health benefits.
• Utilize logic, math, and priority management skills to collect and analyze data, manage multiple projects, and meet development timelines.
• Collaborate with the R&D team to refine recipes and processes for lab-scale production.
• Assist in scaling up successful beverage blends to full production, working closely with the production and quality assurance teams to ensure consistency and quality.
• Prepare sensory evaluations according to specified protocols.
• Maintain a clean and organized lab environment, adhering to safety and hygiene standards.
• Continuously explore new ingredients, techniques, and technologies to enhance product development.
• Document all phases of development work, including ingredient specifications, formulations, and test results.
• Provide technical support to production and quality teams as new products transition from development to commercial production.
• Participate in taste testing and sensory evaluations, providing critical feedback to improve product quality.
• Develop and document standard operating procedures.
