Overview:
Pepsico is on the lookout for a Sensory Scientist to join the team based in Little Island, Cork on an initial contract basis. We are the concentrate business in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products consumed everywhere in the world, spanning globally sourcing ingredients to manufacturing and distributing across the globe
This role is within the R&D Sensory & Consumer Experience Competitive Intelligence Team. Our mission, grounded in the voice of the consumer, is to transform competitive consumer data into insights, to deliver quality advantage for products-icons. We also have a strong focus on Sensory Quality Monitoring through sensory testing of finished products.
Role Summary: The successful candidate will be part of a global team and will, amongst other responsibilities, primarily work on (competitive) Sensory Quality Monitoring programs for Foods and Beverages. The role requires excellent communication, time management skills and stakeholder management. Functional excellence in measuring (competitive) sensory quality of Foods & Beverages will be advantageous.

  • Manage and govern the execution of key Sensory Programs focused on Quality Assurance and/ or Product or Packaging Brand Stewardship initiatives.
  • Build expertise in the sensory testing of beverage and/or food samples and become familiar with the sensory profiles of our key brands.
  • Understand the sensory methodologies applied in the sensory laboratory according to PepsiCo approved testing procedures.
  • Work with the Sensory Managed Services team on setting up & governance of key programs and projects.
  • Design, develop and implement new testing methods in the lab, across beverages and foods.
  • Lead initiatives to measure Consumer Experience of our key brands.
  • Support the roll-out and govern the execution of Sensory Capability Programs, including on-site Sensory Training globally.
  • Proficient in the data analysis and interpretation of Sensory & Consumer data. Provide insights and status updates to key stakeholders in the business on a regular basis.
  • Provide field issue support and new plant support to the business. Track plant and region plant performance, identify areas for opportunities.
  • Lead foundational and custom competitive research.
  • Be a strong partner in cross-functional collaboration across R&D, Insights, Marketing on Competitor Programs and Initiatives.
