Description:

WE’RE SEEKING SOMEONE WITH EXPERIENCE INCLUDING:

  • Honours/Post Graduate Degree in a STEM-related discipline is highly desirable.
  • Detailed working knowledge of the R&D tax legislation and its application to STEM activities.
  • Industry experience in STEM and the ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts.
  • Understanding of key tax/costing concepts relevant to R&D claim preparation.
  • Proven project and staff management skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and delegate to others.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead technical discussions and explain complex legislative concepts to stakeholders unfamiliar with R&D tax definitions.
  • Ability to produce high-quality, professional documentation and reports for C-suite stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an R&D Technical Manager at CBTax, you will lead and manage the technical delivery team to develop claim methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief claims for submission. You will be accountable for compliance by adhering to relevant regulations and internal standards, ensuring that our service delivery meets and exceeds client expectations. The role involves leading meetings with engineering and financial stakeholders, examining client operations and processes to capture, qualify, and draft qualifying activities and costs related to R&D incentives.
This role will also involve managing projects to ensure smooth service delivery, coaching and developing junior staff, and leading by example in terms of client relationships and service quality. You’ll be instrumental in identifying business development opportunities and leading discussions and audits with the Revenue Commissioners.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

  • Lead and manage the technical delivery team to develop methodologies and prepare R&D tax relief claims.

  • Capture, qualify, and draft activities and costs relevant to R&D incentives.
  • Oversee project management to ensure service delivery aligns with client expectations.
  • Coach and develop junior staff members, demonstrating best practices in client relationships and service quality.
  • Identify and pursue new business development opportunities with both new and existing clients.
  • Lead discussions and audits with the Revenue Commissioners regarding R&D claims.
