Description:
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Physical Sciences/Material Science/Chemistry degree
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree level knowledge of materials science, and/or physics, and/or chemistry (physical/materials sciences preferred).
- Ability to work as part of project team & build relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure to achieve goals to agreed timing.
- Experienced in laboratory work including handling chemicals, and able to work safely with minimal supervision.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel and Word).
- Motivated to deliver practical results & flexible to changing requirements.
- Professional and positive outlook to all tasks and requests from line and project manager.
- Good planning and organisation skills - ability to balance multiple tasks and prioritise critical tasks.
- Demonstrate a good eye for detail and use of initiative.
- Have a good work ethic and contribute ideas to technical discussions and debates.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in product, process and/or R&D development.
- Experience in Standard Operating Procedure writing.
- Workshop experience.
Responsibilities:

This junior R&D Technician position forms a key part of the P2i R&D team, and will offer technical support by undertaking various projects around sample preparation, processing operations and analysis of functional nano-coatings.
You will perform scientific experiments and laboratory tests alongside other technicians, be involved in reporting and presenting findings, and collaborate with colleagues across the wider business.
