Our Inspection and Monitoring Technologies branch is looking for a R&D Technologist!

The work involves application of non-destructive evaluation (NDE) technology. This position may entail work on multiple projects each year, and may require the incumbent to contribute in many or all of the following capacities:

• Selecting, specifying, recommending, testing, and operating equipment
• Assembling racks and panels according to the Ontario ESA Code
• Designing and performing specialized tests including design and construction of experimental testing apparatus and data acquisition equipment
• Mechanical design, building of test rigs, and simple mechanical devices
• Assembling and testing electromagnetic probe coils and associated parts
• Procuring parts, equipment and services
• Preparing job hazard analysis documentation
• Following existing procedures and developing new procedures
• Performing and/or supervising laboratory work
• Documenting results
• Supporting proposal initiation, preparing work plans, project management, progress reporting, and writing of reports and procedures.
• Travel to reactor sites for inspection campaigns as a Nuclear Energy Worker
• Other duties as assigned by your manager.
