We are looking for a R&D Technologist for Bionutrients Applications (m/f/d) for our Innovation team as of 1st September 2024, with demonstrable expertise in fermentation science who will
- develop application models within the area microbial fermentation for different market segments (e.g. starter culture, probiotics, production of enzyme and bioingredients, biopharma)
- conduct demonstration studies showcasing the performance of Ohly´s products
- support new product development and product improvement initiatives in close cooperation with other R&D and process engineering functions
Responsibilities:
- Plan, initiate, execute, and evaluate experiments and technical projects in the areas of fermentation and microbiology
- Execute lab-scale microbial fermentations using various setups (e.g. microtiter plates, flasks, bioreactors) and provide analysis of fermentation profiles
- Continuously develop and improve methodologies, experimental protocols and validation study procedures
- Perform full physical, biological and chemical characterization of tested products
- Manage project plans, including detailed action plans, timelines, defining milestones and risks identification
- Effectively organize, interpret, and present data to relevant stakeholders across the organization
- Make recommendations for product development projects, based on continuous observations and evaluation of recent research and new technologies
- Perform literature searches on new developments in the target market segments
- Day-to-day coordination, mentoring and training of lab technicians and students
