Description:

POSITION: R&D Technologist REPORTS TO: R&D Manager
We are looking for a Research and Development Technologist to join our Innovation team! The R&D Technologist will assist the R&D Manager in new product development for One Degree Organic Foods.

  • You understand formulations, ingredients, and ingredient/process interactions.
  • You have good critical thinking skills and can troubleshoot problems and find solutions.
  • You understand the food manufacturing process.
  • You have knowledge of the structure and chemistry of food including nutrition, flavors, textures, and shelf-life.
  • You have excellent computer skills including MS Office Suite & Genesis Nutritional Software

EXPERIENCE

  • You have ONE or more of the following:
  • A bachelor’s or higher degree in food science, food technology, or related discipline.
  • Specialized training in baking (such as a Red Seal certificate)
  • Extensive experience in a home kitchen and love developing healthy food recipes.

Responsibilities:

  • You will work hands-on at the bench and in the manufacturing plant conducting production trials.
  • You will conduct research on ingredients including sources, nutritional information, and price.
  • You will keep records and create reports.
  • You will interact closely with the Procurement staff, Operations personnel, and Marketing teams to launch products that will grow the brand.
